Don Tapscot is one of my favourite writers of management books. In the clip below he talks about the future of marketing and how kids are changing the fundamental rules of marketing.
I can guarantee you that 62 percent of the ads get bleeped out by kids, I even can guarantee you that 62 percent of the ads will never be seen by them. Those advertising words will not workThe 4p's of marketing will not work any more by kids, because: - Product: Youngsters do not focus any more on the product but on the experiences around the product and the experiences they can create with the product. - Place: It is not only about place but, with the merge of the physical world with the virtual world, it is more about location based services. - Promotion: It's all about 'engagement'. Not promotion - Price: We will see a world where sellers will decide what the price will be. I totally agree with Tapscot on this. What do you think?
