I read your post about augmented reality, a good one with also nice examples. Your right augmented reality is just one devellopment in a world where technology is changing the whole world rapidly. The future we will see is (what I call) transreality. The seemless integration of the virtual world with the physical world.

The possible applications of augmented reality are manifold indeed. Labs and companies across the world are dreaming up new possible scenarios of use each day. In a sense, augmented reality is only one element in a growing mixed-reality world, which includes mixed applications of augmented reality, augmented virtuality and virtual reality. I recently blogged a few lines about this over at ‘a thousand tomorrows’ as well: http://www.pantopicon.be/blog/2007/02/24/soap-opera-shopping-and-beyond/
