The web enables easy distribution of work. More and more you can apply for the most crazy tasks and get paid. Amazon introduced
Amazon Turk for work that can be easily done by humans, but is hard for computers. Examples includes working with pictures (computers still hate it to interpret images). Trivial Pursuit uses the service to get new questions for their boardgames. I was happily surprised when I stumbled upon the website
Voices, a marketplaces for voice-overs. It is easy to get a voice artist for your corporate movie, cartoon or game characters. Reactions are sent in MP3, so you can listen if the voice matches your wishes. The site has major clients, this indicates low barriers for entry. A perfect illustration that it becomes increasingly easy to use talent all over the world as long as the results can be exchanged through the web. But the reverse is also possible: serving the amateurs.
Overcast Media (still in beta) makes it possible to deliver comments on your favourite TV-show or documentary and Overcast will take care of the synchronization.Who knows what they may think of to distribute in the coming years?
