There is much speculation about NEC's introduction of a fuel powered mobile phone this year. Samsung takes the next step and says it is likely that water powered phones will enter the market by 2010. The scientists of the corporation succeeded in creating a micro-fuel cell and hydrogen generator that runs on water. Metal and water in the phone react to produce hydrogen gas, the gas is then supplied to the fuel cell where it reacts with oxygen in the air to generate power. The first generation hydrogen units should be changed every five days, later generation power units should provide the functionality to just add water to the phone. Imagine saying to friends that you need to charge your phone, walk to the nearest water fountain and you're ready to go. You will never have to worry again about forgetting your power supplies. Just a little bit of patience and it will become reality. Would we need small new fountains to support these phones?
