Transition en FSC-1, de auto’s die kunnen vliegen?

In 2006 a company named Terrafugia started to realise their dreams and produced the first automated folding wing for a light sport aircraft. This is the first step towards the first aero-auto hybrid that the company plans to call the Transition. Flying cars are not something new. For years the concept is investigated and never a human succeeded to make the ideal flying car. But Now there are in the world some initiatives which promise a lot. Like The Transition from Terrafugia. The first steps for the flying car are taken and the first automatic unfoldable wing for a light airplane is a fact. Now they face even bigger challenges like the engine and to keep up with the regulations of the FAA. But the planning is very tight.

We're building the rest of the first vehicle now. Our schedule calls for us to start flight testing by the end of 2008, and so far we're on track for that.

They expect (hope) to sell between 50 - 200 flying cars in 2009 and the pricing will be about  148.000 dollar. So keep your eye in the sky . But there are more initiative around the first flying car. Just have a look at  Labiche Aerospace. This company also helped develop the F-117 and Apache helicopter. Now they are working on the FSC-1. So whatch the flying cars for the future. But there is one big problem to overcome like a pilot for a commercial airline said.

My one concern, though, is about having a plane parked around other cars. If it were pushed or damaged, would that make it unflyable and dangerous
