We blogged about it before: clothing will get new functionalities in the future. Just think about the examples like
shoes with gps and
lumalive T-shirts from Philips. On Cebit new textiles were shown which have been developed by a New Zealand firm Zephyr. The fabric gathers information on for example heart beat, skin temperature, activity and breathing rate when it is against the skin. The Amercan military and athletes have already shown intrest. Zephyr has for this pattented two products named the bio-harness and shoe pod.
The bio-harness (a length of fabric worn around the chest) and the shoe pod (a smart insole) are both made of a patented textile that has the sensors woven into it.
With this we see the arise of a new dimension within clothing. A virtual dimension. Soon we will be scanned 24x7 by our jeans, blouses or T-shirts. We will get direct feedback from our clothes if we are healthy enough or that we maybe might need some rest before getting into the car.

. Do you see such future for clothes?
