Six shocks which change you life!

This century will bring more changes then ever before. When you read Extend Limits on a daily basis this will come as no surprise to you. And of course we humans will slow down the pace of change. But still I am convinced that changes will come this century faster then ever. One of the accelerators are the BANG technologies (Bits, Atoms, Neurons en Genes).

Many futurists are nowadays busy helping organisations in creating a view on the future. This means that organisations must change their behaviour towards an uncertain future. They have to become aware of the most important upcoming changes in their organisational environment and know and learn how to act on that. But still not to many organisations are aware of the pace of change. So books on this topic are still needed! That's what I believe.

Geert Noels from 'the financial intelligence group Petercam' wrote recently a book about the six economic shock which will dramatically change our lives! The book is entitled 'Econoshock: how six economic shocks will fundamentally change your life'. The following six shocks appear in the book:

1. Demographic shock: just think about the rise of huge cities, older people and the fact that most people in the world will live in poor countries.
2. Chinashock: the rise of the east and new economic world powers.
3. ICT-shock: The rise of technology and impact on society, humans, privacy etc.
4. Oilshock: The end of fossil fuels.
5. Finance shock: Well I think that this shock is one of which everyone is now aware ?? It is about the rise of new capitalism
6. Ecoshock: think about the rise of the green economy.
