The technology uses “intelligent” 3D video camera's and is specially designed to guard governments and private properties, airplanes, and borders. From the perspective of security and the war on terror, it is a welcomed add-on, a true innovative new tool. Although available, the system is currently not being used anywhere.
Although a very useful tool, it touches, once again, the privacy issue. Where will this lead us? Who controls? And who is monitoring the controllers? Or should we just face the fact that we should give-up on privacy for more protection and peace of mind? Being monitored constantly might give some persons the feeling of more security and others will hate it. Of course, if accepted it will again take away a peace of our freedom. Let's face it, we are all traceable and we might conclude that we are currently constantly being followed. New communications and other technology has made the term “privacy” redundant. Privacy is already a thing of the past!
