IBM has spoken more than 1.000 CEO's from around the world about the future of the enterprise. Several striking findings are± (source:
The Enterprise of the Future, IBM, life sciences industry edition):
- Organizations are bombarded by change, and many are struggling to keep up.
- CEO's view more demanding customers not as a threat, but as an opportunity to differentiate.
- Nearly all CEO´s are adapting their business models.
- CEO's are moving aggressively toward global business designs, deeply changing capabilities and partnering more extensively.
- Financial outperformers are making bolder plays.
We have seen more change in the last ten years than in the previous 90" Ad J. Scheepbouwer, CEO, KPN Telecom
Upon these findings, IBM has defined the properties of the future organization. The organization of the future is:
- Hungry for change;
- Innovative beyond customer imagination;
- Globally integrated;
- Disruptive by nature;
- Genuine, not just generous.
I´ll challenge you, does your organization meet those properties? If not, according to this survey you are in big trouble, because a large number of organizations are not capable of managing the necessary change.

De meeste organisatie kunnen alleen maar navelstaren en zijn onvoldoende tot niet met de toekomst bezig. Veel organisaties zullen het voorbeeld volgen van twee (inmiddels) bekende amerikaanse banken.
