A 12-year-old Norwegian boy saved his little sister and himself from a moose attack using some skills that he said he had learned while playing World of Warcraft. The boy, Hans Jorgen Olsen and his little sister found themselves in trouble when they stumbled into the territory of a moose.
The male moose is a very territorial animal and immediately went on the offensive. Hans' little sister was its first target, and a thought popped into Hans' mind. In World of Warcraft, when you want to "pull" an enemy off of a more lightly armored friend, you taunt the monster and draw them to yourself. This Hans did with great skill allowing his sister to flee to safety.
Now as you can imagine, young Hans is now fleeing from the moose himself. Just then another idea struck him. When he hit level 30 in World of Warcraft, there was another trick that he learned so he decided to try it - he feigned death. The moose just stopped, sniffed around at this inanimate object that was no longer a threat and then moved on.
When finally alone again, Hans ran home to safety to tell the tale of his game-inspired survival. Now his mother lets him play WoW as much as he wants to, but only when his homework is done.
