It is the prediction that by 2020 the first humans will have robots in there bloodvessels controling their health. The Technion-Israel Institute has showed the first prototype.

The tiny robot is 1 millimeter in diameter and 14 millimeters long. Because it is that small it is able to go to the smallest places in the human body. The energy to perform it's tasks come from a magnetic field or through an on-board actuation system. The robot can be made completely biocompatible so it can remain in the body.

Micro robots are being developed in many research centers, but this is the first time we’ve been able to create one that can crawl through the body (Professor Moshe Shoham)

The robot is for no just a prototype but the future of these tiny robotics in our bodies comes closer.
